painkillers first pvp competition

now that we have our own server for pvp we decided we want to host a pvp competition.

how will it work:
you take one of your characters and sign up here on the forum for the competition.
we will announce dates as to when people will fight it out.
simple 1vs1 matches with one referee (just there to view the match ground level and to say when to start fighting). all matches will be held three times to determine a winner. this because a match can literally last for only a couple of seconds sometimes and this gives a chance for a comeback if you happen to use a skill at the wrong time.
simple ladder progression. quarter finals, semi finals and finals so to speak.

rules:
only one character per account
no switching professions between rounds.
switching skills is allowed.
low blows, trash talk and other stuff is all good .

rewards:
still working on that. will be something point wise since we will be switching to a new reward system. something like DKP.

akhullad necro will be the main leader for this since he is our pvp officer. everything he says is final.

i will wait until monday the 8th to set everything in stone. after that i will make random matchups and we can plan a date for this. in the meantime still wanting more people in this.

well today is the day i anounce the match-ups. we now have a nice even number because shehr joined so lets see what we get.

a really interesting machtup. ranger versus thief. and they both want revenge

Trebax Y vs Akhullad Necro
dont know what to think of this one. thief versus necro. havent seen these two fight that much so surprise us.

Mini Alexa vs Danagir
mesmer versus mesmer. now see if you can spot the real ones in between the zillions of clones

Coyllar Nightfire vs Mini Trip
mesmer versus necro. i have seen coyllar fight and trip has to come up with something good to win this one.

Melady shatterer vs Ráven Crow
engineer versus ranger. my one weakness is a ranger and this is what i get. i will have to try real hard to win this one.

Shehr vs Chaos strongheart
well shehr will probably have an easy time but dont underestimate a good bunker build.

all these matches were decided at random by a computer so no trickery involved. i really like these match-ups though. some nice variation and some grudges can be fought out.

now seeing as many of you are on vacation im planning to hold the tournament at either the last week of august or the first of september. depending who is back and who isnt. let me know if you can make it or not.

Oh, drago, I remember our one and only 1v1 a couple days ago. That was a great match, took longer than usual matches, had some nice moments of almost-dead-experiences on both sides, ... I think this will be a very interesting and 'hanging in the balance' match.

I think i'll be back from vacation on 28th august, or something like that.

So if we were to vote, i'd vote for the first week of September for the tournament!

well i have to hold the competition a lot earlier then that im afraid. right now its looking to be somewhere in the start of august possible in the first week. keep checking back to this as i will post the final date soon.

if you cant make it then your match will be held when you are back.

That would still mean the next rounds will be later though. Cause we can't continue with some matches missing.

alright the date of the event is now set in stone. our very first pvp competition will be held on friday the 9th of august at 18:00 gmt/ 11:00 st (thats server time).
i hope as many of you can make it as possible so we can hopefully do this in one day. if not then it might bleed over to saturday as well.
