So, I started maining a new guardian build, meditation with gs+sc/fo

And I love it a lot, but I have this question to ask: Does it work in any of our team comps? It has like 1% support, but has good survivability, cappability (meaning, it can cap well) and good damage, so I'm not sure if it fits into any of the roles that are needed

Hello Tripz,
Ideally, most people would expect you to play the standard AH Bunker build (01661, things like that) and it's easier to play with if you're new to PvP.

I'm still struggling with what runes to use, and I have yet to test Litany of Wrath (the meditation heal). People tell me that Shelter is better, and I agree that it is good, but I am still going to test it and tell you how good/bad it is

Lithany of wrath isn't a certain heal. You get your base heal + medi heal, but the damage output may as well be 0 (as a ranger i'd take distance and leave you with 0 damage to me) or it may also be VERY MUCH if you can combo a lot of dps. Shelther also blocks attacks, meaning you can use it at very low hp without the risk of getting bursted down still.

AH Bunker ain't 'easy' though. It's still very difficult to be as good on it as is needed and a lot depends on you (referring to our ToG match where me getting downed created a snowball effect towards our loss). It's more forgiving than medi for sure though.

With the 4 points in virtues I told you about, you'll have condi cleansing too noz (which works for allies too if I remember correctly)

For teamplay: take 2 in honor at least for the ressing bubble! It saves your team mates a lot!

Runes I'm using 'traveler' for the 25% movement buff
Amulet: I'm liking celestial quite a lot honestly. Or otherwise soldiers. But Sel prefers zerker. Depends on playstyle I guess.

PS: like I said: try to combo your scepter 3+2 and your judges intervention and gs 4+2 for some big dps burst. (certainly with your f1 skill activated)

I think that a good combo would be with Judges Intervention and Medi Heal. Use heal, judges intervention (insta 5k heal) and then GS2 (or sc 3+2, depends) and then a lot of heal instantly. GS2 would heal for more because of trait

Try this.

Sigils are up to you. You could of course take the 1 point from Radiance and get the healing bubble, but as you're a zerker, you shouldn't res and blinds save your butt a lot.

Zira, I actually think that that is a better build than mine. A little less raw survivability, but I can time dodges well, so that's always nice.

However, the 20% damage while under aegis... meh. I land maximum 5 hits before Aegis goes out. I'd rather have retaliation on CC.

I was also told by Raven that I should replace Zerker with Soldier's, and I tried it against a friend of mine and it worked surprisingly well. I will use the build you gave me (a slightly tweaked version) tomorrow and I'll tell you here how it worked Smile

Yea the Aegis trait is just a filler, I forgot to point that out, just take whatever floats your boat. Your job as a DPS guard is to burst thieves to the ground (peel for us squishies), cleave downed targets and secure stomps with blinds. You're like a heavy thief.
Soldier's may work, but you will see a severe loss of damage.

Zira has a point about the bubble but I still prefer it. So see what you like: blinds or the bubble.

about soldiers vs zerker: the damage was not that different when I tested it and soldiers outpeaked zerkers even at certain times. But that would require heavy testing with a good medi guard at the keyboard cause I fuckef up to much vs sel to get stable data out of that.

Soldier's and Zerker's have the same Power, which determines your Damage. BUT Zerker's has the Precision and Crit Damage that Soldier's doesn't. Thus Zerker's always >>> Soldier's, unless math is a lie.

Yh it is impossible. That can only happen if you dont crit at all and with zerker+ fury from meditations the chances of that are insanely tiny. So yh zerker is always more dmg

Soldiers gets fury too from medi's.

I can't believe it either, but I got no time to test it again. But I say: my soldier's gs whirl once did 200 more damage than my zerkers gs whirl. Just saying what I noticed in the numbers.

Dude! You cant test it with the whirl. Thats way too dodgy a skill. Sometimes you land all the hits sometimes you dont.Test it with an autoattack chain. Soldiers does equal dmg as zerker on no crit, but zerker crits waaay more often and does significantly more dmg per crit. Equal dmg+more crits+ higher crits= way more overall dmg

When i say dodgy i dont mean dodgeable. I mean it as in "sth you cant count on". It is rly hard to predict if everything hits. The whirling hit+the flying blades

And besides: pure basic chance math:

24% crit chance and 54%(?) with zerker?

It's not that with soldiers only 1 out of 4 attacks crit and with zerker every 2nd attack crits.
Every attack has a % chance to be a crit. It is not a set number. So if you are lucky, your soldiers will crit more than your zerker (it may not sound logical, but on small-scale tests like mine it's completely plausible)

EDIT: and I happen to be a very lucky guy in games (I got into every beta I registered for last year, I got a lot of T6's from mystic clover MF'ing, ...)

I am not an idiot. It is possiblr though unlikely that a soldier whirl does more dmg. You said there was hardly a diff in dmg. Im saying theres a considerable diff in dmg

This isn't going to end this way.

My new statement: It is possible that there is hardly any difference in damage. Though there can be a considerable difference in damage considering crit rates. But it's all down to luck.

Well with precgear you can force luck. With zerk in general you will crit more and do more dmg. It is possible that on 1 or 2 or a few more attacks you do equal dmg on soldier. In a fight, zerk willgive you more dmg
